The St. Thomas University Tommies hosted the Mount Saint Vincent University Mystics in a spirited ACAA men's basketball matchup at the LB Gym. Despite a determined effort, the Mystics emerged victorious with a 90-71 win.
MSVU set the tone early, taking the first quarter 22-13. The Tommies fought to stay within reach, but the Mystics' offense remained relentless, extending their lead to 49-36 at halftime.
In the second half, the Mystics continued to capitalize on their momentum, keeping the Tommies at bay and securing the road victory.
Jaydan Smith was the top scorer for the Mystics with 15 points. Demeric Mercer had 14 and Adam Callaghan and Keigan Feron added 13 and 12, respectively.
Leading the way for STU were Evan Valanne and Noah McCarthy who had 17 points apiece.
The Tommies will look to regroup and turn the tables as the two teams face off again tomorrow at the LB Gym. Tip-off is set for 4pm.
