The St. Thomas University Tommies hosted the Mount Saint Vincent University Mystics in an intense ACAA basketball clash at the LB Gym. Despite a spirited opening quarter, the Mystics claimed an early edge, closing the first frame ahead 17-14.
The second quarter proved pivotal as MSVU's relentless offensive push and stifling defense widened the gap to 37-16 by halftime. The Mystics carried their momentum through the second half, showcasing their depth and cohesion en route to a commanding 72-37 victory.
Amanda Pearcey led the way for the Mystics with 17 point, five assists and three steals. Victoria Strickland added 12 points, while Emma Garagan contributed 11 of her own in the win.
Katie Vidito and Charlee Connors had a nine a piece for the host Tommies.
The Tommies will regroup and look to bounce back tomorrow when they face MSVU once again at the LB Gym. Tip-off is set for 2pm.
