Mystics top Seawolves 83-65 in Saint John

The UNB Saint John Seawolves put up a strong fight against the Mount Saint Vincent Mystics,currently sitting first in the ACAA , but ultimately fell 83-65 in a hard-fought matchup at home.
Despite an early offensive surge from MSVU, the Seawolves responded with resilience, outscoring the Mystics in the third quarter and closing the gap heading into the final frame. Ainsley Green led the way for UNBSJ with a standout 22-point performance, adding 8 rebounds and 3 blocks to her stat line. Ava Sprague provided an offensive spark off the bench, shooting an efficient 6-for-8 from the field for 13 points, while Bailey Henderson made her presence felt on the boards, grabbing 7 rebounds.
MSVU's offensive depth proved to be the difference, with Amanda Pearcey leading all scorers with 22 points, supported by Victoria Strickland's 18. The Mystics capitalized on turnovers, turning UNBSJ's 32 giveaways into 38 points, maintaining control throughout the game. Though the Seawolves couldn't complete the comeback, their effort against a top-tier opponent showed their potential to compete at a high level, they will be back tommorow at 1.
