Mystics fall 82-67 to Lightning

The St. Mary's Lightning took control early and never looked back, securing an 82-67 victory over MSVU in Game 2 of Day 1 at the 2025 CCAA Women's Basketball Nationals.
The Lightning jumped out to a 24-15 lead in the first quarter and extended their advantage to 44-30 by halftime. Despite a strong performance from Amanda Pearcey of MSVU, who finished with 28 points and six rebounds, the Lightning held firm in the second half to seal the win.
Maitlynn Miller led the charge for St. Mary's, scoring 27 points, earning Player of the Game honors as well as Amanda Peracey from MSVU, and keeping her team on track for the next round.
Celine Sterckel also had a big game for MSVU, scoring 22 points.
With the win, the St. Mary's Lightning advance in the tournament, looking to build momentum as they push forward in their quest for the national title. The Mystics move on to face the VIU Mariners in the bronze medal quarter-final Thursday at 1:00pm.
