In a rematch of the ACAA playoffs, the STU Tommies took on the MSVU Mystics in the 7th place game at the CCAA Women's Basketball Nationals. This time, the Tommies flipped the script, earning a 71-67 victory to close out their tournament run.
STU came out strong, setting the tone early and taking the first quarter 19-12. They continued their momentum in the second, dropping 21 points to extend their lead to 40-25 at halftime. Katie Vidito and Kylee Roi led the way for the Tommies, helping them maintain control.
MSVU responded in the third quarter, putting up 21 points, with Marley Curwin and Emma Garagan leading the charge in the second half. The Mystics pushed late, but STU held firm, pulling off the upset over the ACAA champions and securing 7th place at Nationals.
Players of the Game were Kylee Roi for STU and Emma Garagan for MSVU. Garagan scored 22 points and had eight rebounds and three assists in the effort.
