Mystics play to 2-2 draw with Hurricanes

The Mystics and Hurricanes played to a 2-2 draw Saturday afternoon in Halifax.
Holland's Matsuri Sako had the first opportunity to score in the match, but Mystics keeper Morgan Gillis was quick to step out and take the opportunity away.
Not long after, Sacha Clark put a header into the back of the Hurricanes net off a beautiful corner kick from Lauren Seamone to put the Mystics up 1-0 after just six minutes of play.
Hayden Chaisson and Shania Kearney both had chances to tie things up but Gillis broke up both opportunities to keep the Mystics lead in tact.
The Mount's Mhyah Allen came close to extending the Mystics with a header off a beautiful cross from Paige Moores, but she hit the cross bar.
Chaisson had her second opportunity of the match as she closed in on the Msytics net, but Gillis came out to challenge and the shot went wide.
The Mystics controlled the ball for about five minutes of play with great opportunities from Seamone, Clark, Kate Burton and Leah Mombourquette, but Hurricanes keeper Allison Rutt made a sequence of saves to keep Holland in the match.
Kearney stepped up for the Hurricanes in the 29th minute to tie things up at one apiece.
Both teams traded opportunities for the rest of the half, but the score remained tied 1-1 heading into halftime.
The Mount seemed to control much of the play early in the second until Sako put the ball past a challenging Gillis to give Holland a 2-1 lead with 20 minutes left in the match.
As time ticked away, neither team was able to add a tally until Annabelle Lendrum-Harnish found scored during a scrum in front of the Hurricanes net to tie things up in the 86th minute.
Holland mounted a push in the dying minutes of added time, but the score remained 2-2 after the final whistle.
The Mystics remian undfeated and first in the league standings with a 3-0-3 record while Holland currently sits in fourth with a record of 2-1-3.
Both teams return to action next weekend.
