In the first game of the ACAA Championships, Mount Saint Vincent University (MSVU) faced off against the University of New Brunswick Saint John (UNBSJ). MSVU started strong with Leah Mombourquette, scoring an early goal in the 15th minute, putting her team ahead. Despite intense efforts from UNBSJ, MSVU's Beth Padfield, doubled their lead with a goal in the 60th minute, securing a solid advantage. Casey Grant-Spin, the goalkeeper for UNBSJ, showcased incredible skills and earned the title of MVP for her team, keeping them competitive with multiple key saves. For MSVU, Kate Burton, a standout in defense, was named player of the game for her leadership and control on the backline, ensuring the team's shutout victory. MSVU won the match 2-0 and advanced to the next stage of the championships, setting a strong tone for the rest of the tournament.
