Allen takes top spot in first race of the season
Madesen Allen ran to a first place finish at the first ACAA Invitational meet of the 2024-25 season to lead the women's cross country team to a second-place finish.
Hosted by Crandall University, the meet was held in Moncton, New Brunswick.
In her first race as a Mystic, Madesen Allen finished with a time of 26:13.9 in the six-kilometre race to lead the women's team to a second place team finish. Eva Kozak was the second Mystic to cross the line posting a time of 28:14.8 to place fourth, followed by Abbey Keeping in 13th and Alex Frith in 19th to round out the Mystics point scorers.
On the men's side, it was Erik Cabascango who was the top finisher for MSVU, finishing in 24th place with a time of 40:59.1. Following close behind were Anthony Gallant in 25th and Koen Schlief in 26th, all helping the Mystics to a sixth-place team finish.
The Mystics are back in action in two weeks for the second invitational meet hosted by St. Thomas University in Fredericton, N.B.
